The Pats are 0-3-0-0 vs. the Blades this season inside the Brandt Centre, most recently falling to Saskatoon 4-1 back on April 15. Matthew Kieper got the start in goal that night for Regina, before bouncing back with his third win of the season against the Raiders.
Just five games remain for the Pats inside the Hub, including Tuesday night’s affair, as the Regiment continues to battle for fourth place in the East Division Standings.
Saskatoon, meanwhile, enters the night in the midst of a fight with the Brandon Wheat Kings, and Winnipeg ICE for top spot in the division. The Blades last outing was a 3-2 shootout loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday night – Saskatoon’s fifth loss inside the Hub and first via shootout.
Speaking of the Broncos, they’re next on the schedule for the Pats. Regina and Swift meet for the final time this season Thursday night in Hub game No. 74.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Drew Englot became the 17th Pat this season to score, as he netted his first of the season in Sunday night’s win. His goal just happened to be the game-winner.
- Regina’s 32 shots on goal Sunday were the most by the Pats since April 9th, when the Pats had 33 shots in their 2-1 OT win vs. Brandon – Connor Bedard’s last game.
- Ryker Evans point streak update: it’s now nine games. The Pats top defencemen has two goals and 10 assists over the span. It’s the longest streak by a defencemen in the WHL this season.
- Five of Regina’s seven wins this season have come ‘on the road.’ The Pats have been almost identical as the home (30 GF/39 GA) and away team (31 GF/39 GA).
- For the second straight season there will not be a WHL champion, as the league announced Monday that the season will conclude with regular season play. That means more than 1000 days will have passed between WHL championship series when one is eventually staged in the spring of 2022.
