Friday it was a 6-0 loss to the Kamloops Blazers at the Sandman Centre after a 31 save shutout from Dylan Ernst.
Julien Maze made his Pats debut, registering four shots. Kelton Pyne got the start, allowing five goals on 21 shots in just over 34 minutes of ice time. Ewan Huet played the final 25 minutes, allowing just one goal on 21 shots. The final shots were 42-31 for Kamloops. The Pats were 0-4 on their power play and 6-8 on their penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Kelowna Rockets suffered a 6-4 loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Friday afternoon at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Kalder Verga scored twice while Andrew Cristall and Owen Folstrom added the others. Rhett Stoesser got the start in net, allowing five goals on 42 shots. The final shots were 45-43 for Kelowna. WHO TO WATCH
John Babcock will be highly motivated heading into tonight’s game as he faces off against his former team for the first time in his WHL career. The North Vancouver, B.C., product spent parts of four seasons with the Rockets after being drafted by the club in 2019, registering 160 career games.
For the Rockets, Andrew Cristall has recorded a point in 14 straight games (13G-22A-35PTS) which is the longest active streak and second longest point-streak this season behind Luke Mistelbacher’s 16 game point-streak. Cristall ranks third in the WHL with 42 points (15G-27A) in 17 games this season.
