The Regina Pats will try to break their four game skid tonight against the Swift Current Broncos. The Pats are coming off a 10-5 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday. Anthony Wilson scored twice and Tanner Howe tallied two helpers. Tyson Buczkowski, Tye Spencer and Jaxsin Vaughan also scored for the Pats. Ewan Huet got the start, allowing six goals on 28 shots in 31 minutes of ice time. Kelton Pyne played the final 28 minutes, allowing four goals on 24 shots.
The final shots were 52-26 for the Pats. Regina was 0-3 on their power play and 4-7 on their penalty kill.
The Swift Current Broncos are 7-3 in their last 10 games after a 9-4 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday at the Art Hauser Centre. Brady Birnie (3G-1A) and Clarke Caswell (2G-3A) led the way with huge offensive nights while Reid Dyck made 29 saves. The shots were 42-33 for the Broncos. The Raiders were 2-5 on their power play while the Broncos went 1-6 on their power play.
WHO TO WATCH
Anthony Wilson scored twice on Friday. The Swift Current product has five goals this season which leads the Pats roster. In addition, Tanner Howe has four points (2G-2A) in four games this season.
Brady Birnie has been one of the hottest players in the WHL as of late, with three goals and one assist in two of his last three games. The Regina product has nine points (6G-3A) over his last three games, and is on a seven game point-streak (9G-7A-16PTS).
COMING UP
The Regina Pats begin a three game homestand on Tuesday with a rematch against the Prince Albert Raiders on Tuesday, November 5 at 7pm. The Pats will then host Brandon on November 8 and Lethbridge on November 10.
