Pats call for Regina Schools to get on the Lung Challenge Roster
The Regina Pats and The Lung Association are calling all Regina (and area) schools to get on the Lung Challenge roster. The Lung Challenge is an educational opportunity for
schools, an easy fundraiser and a fun way to inspire youth to exercise their lungs.
Tyler Brown and his Regina Pats teammates will be visiting Regina (and area) elementary schools this fall with an educational lung health message and an interactive, energetic, music filled
presentation. The presentation will have youth focused on protecting their lungs, saying no to tobacco, and playing hard by moving to a sport themed music remix by DJ Rabenga.
Tyler Brown took part in the Lung Challenge last year and is happy to be back. “I had a really fun time being a part of this program and it was an honour for me and my teammates to participate. Kids have a blast at the presentations and it was good to see them so engaged,” says Brown. He hopes every school will take advantage of this opportunity.
The Lung Association is thrilled to partner with The Regina Pats again. “The WHL players are great Breathe Ambassadors and role models for Saskatchewan youth. This project is a wonderful way to raise money, exercise and to empower youth to learn about lung health,” exclaims Health Promotion Coordinator, Jill Hubick.
Schools can fundraise very easily by selling tickets to the Saturday, December 10 Regina Pats game. Tickets are just $15 each, $5 goes to the participating school, $5 to The Regina Pats and $5 to The Lung Association. It’s EASY and a WIN-WIN-WIN for everyone!
“Helping kids understand the importance of making healthy choices now and how that will benefit them throughout their lives is a role our players are pleased to play,” says Todd Lumbard, Regina Pats President.
In order for schools to be eligible to be entered into a draw to receive a presentation from the Regina Pats, all schools must register for the Lung Challenge by October 3rd, 2016. Fundraising
opportunities and to take part in the Lung Challenge game night will be available until the end of November.
