Filip Ahl Gets World Junior Call

Regina Pats forward Filip Ahl has been named to Team Sweden’s selection camp roster for the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships.

The fourth round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2015 is in his first WHL season. He has scored 17 goals and has 14 assists for 31 points which is second amongst all rookies.

The Jonkoping, Sweden product is tied for first in the WHL with five game winning goals and is tied for fourth with nine powerplay markers.

Ahl is the fourth member of the Pats to be named to a World Junior Selection Camp roster this year. Sam Steel (CAN), Austin Wagner (CAN) and Sergey Zborovskiy (RUS) the others.

The Pats continue their three game road trip on Tuesday night in Cranbrook B.C. against the Kootenay ICE at 8 p.m. Regina time on 620 CKRM.
