2022 Training Camp: Day 2 Recap
Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats continued their 2022 Training Camp scrimmages on Saturday at the Brandt Centre, with Team White and Team Blue coming away with wins.
Connor Bedard scored eight goals in two scrimmages, while his linemate Alexander Suzdalev finished with three tallies. Easton Armstrong, Adam McNutt and Cole Dubinsky also finished with a pair of goals today.
Scrimmage 1: Team White 9, Team Red 6
THE GOALS
First Half
Team White 1-0 at 8 seconds — Connor Bedard (1) // On a quick offensive rush to open the scrimmage, Bedard ripped a shot past Rempel’s blocker.
Team White 2-0 at 11:07 — Connor Bedard (2) // Bedard picked up his second marker of the scrimmage on a penalty shot in which he made no mistake firing a wrist shot past Rempel from the slot.
Team White 3-0 at 15:07 — Alexander Suzdalev (1) // Suzdalev received a pass on the left side of the offensive zone and fired a shot past a partially screened netminder.
Team White 4-0 at 18:10 — Alexander Suzdalev (2) // From his off-wing, Suzdalev ripped home a one-time pass from Connor Bedard for his second goal of the morning scrimmage.
Team Red 4-1 at 19:22 — Logan Linklater (1) // Linklater stole the puck just inside Team Red’s blueline and hustled in on a breakaway where he did a couple of dekes and put the puck past Kieper’s glove hand.
Second Half
Team White 5-1 at 2:11 — Kaslo Ferner (1) // Ferner adds to the Team White lead when he corrals the puck and is able to put one past Sim.
Team White 6-1 at 5:11 — Connor Bedard (3) // Bedard completed his hat-trick when he carried the puck into the offensive zone and let a heavy wrist shot go that beat Sim high glove side.
Team Red 6-2 at 5:34 — Easton Armstrong (1) // Armstrong got on the board for Team Red as he put a sharp angle shot on Chase that somehow got through the netminder.
Team White 7-2 at 9:26 — Dru Mushumanski (1) // While on a penalty shot, Mushumanski fired a wrist shot from the slot that beat Sim on his glove side.
Team White 8-2 at 13:12 — Connor Bedard (4) // Bedard added another tally where he ripped home a wrist shot from the slot.
Team Red 8-3 at 15:24 — Easton Armstrong (2) // Armstrong’s original shot was stopped but was able to find the puck and jammed home his second of the scrimmage.
Team Red 8-4 at 18:37 — Carson McGinley (1) // McGinley one-timed a pass from Armstrong in the slot that beat the outstretched Chase.
Team Red 8-5 at 19:40 — Cobe Perlinger (1) // While in close on the Team White’s goal, Linklater got a quick pass over to Cobe Perlinger who chipped home his first of Training Camp.
Team Red 8-6 at 23:21 — Corban Almen (1) // Almen carried the puck into the offensive zone where he took a wrist shot that beat the goalie low.
Team White 9-6 at 23:54 — Connor Bedard (5) // Bedard sealed the deal with a long-distance empty-netter for his fifth goal of the scrimmage.

THE GOALS
First Half
Team White 1-0 at 11:25 — Connor Bedard (1) // Bedard grabbed the puck in the offensive zone, found some time, and fired home a wrist shot past Pyne.
Second Half
Team Blue 1-1 at 30 seconds — Adam McNutt (1) // A long shot from the point somehow manages its way through bodies and into the cage to get Team Blue on the board.
Team Blue 2-1 at 2:55 — Zane Rowan (1) // Rowan was parked in front of the net where he received a pass from down low and deposited the puck from in close to give Team Blue the lead.
Team Blue 3-1 at 8:30 — Cole Dubinsky (1) // Dubinsky finished off a give-and-go with Borya Valis to give Team Blue a two-goal advantage.
Team Blue 4-1 at 10:28 — Adam McNutt (2) // McNutt glided his way into the attacking zone and ripped the puck into the top corner for his second of the game.
Team Blue 5-1 at 11:54 — Cole Dubinsky (2) // Dubinsky tapped in his second of the scrimmage on a nice pass from Valis.
Team White 5-2 at 15:00 — Alexander Suzdalev (1) // Ethan King made a nice move in the offensive zone and sent a pass to Suzdalev who connected on a one-timer goal.
Team White 5-3 at 16:15 — Connor Bedard (2) // Off a pretty feed from Suzdalev, Bedard went to his backhand and tucked home his second of the scrimmage.
Team White 5-4 at 18:56 — Connor Bedard (3) // Fresh off a faceoff win, Bedard weaved his way around the offensive zone, saw his opportunity, and fired home a laser to complete the hat-trick.
Team Blue 6-4 at 20:56 — Raiden Zacharias (1) // Valis and Zacharias broke in on an odd-man rush, Valis fed Zacharias with a pass which he deposited for the goal to restore Team Blue’s two-goal lead with less than five minutes left.
Team Blue 7-4 at 23-20 — Carter Bergen(1) // Bergen won a battle for the loose puck and sealed the contest with an empty-netter.
