Lethbridge Hurricanes victorious in Kyle Beach homecoming
rEverett, WA – The Lethbridge Hurricanes shot out of the gates and never looked back as they notched a key win over the Everett Silvertips on Saturday night in Everett. The Canes came out flying as they rallied for a three goal lead in the first period with goals from Brennan Yadlowski (3), Austin Fyten (11) and Carter Ashton (26). Ashton, who sniped a highlight reel goal would finish the night with two points and a team leading 26 goals on the season. Lethbridge would then continue to pour it on as Brody Sutter tallied an unassisted marker to kick off the second period an chase Everett starting goaltender Thomas Heemskirk from the net. The Tips were able to battle back with a pair of unanswered goals in the second while being outshot heavily by the visitors 26-15 going into the final period.
r
rThe Canes finally put the nail in the coffin as the man of the hour Kyle Beach (20) was able to corral a bouncing puck to record his 20th of the season and 11th as a Hurricane for the eventual game winner. Beach would notch a three point night to give him a total of 20 points in 12 games with the Hurricanes. Everett would answer back with a pair of goals in the third to bring them within striking distance but it would be too little too late as the Canes raised their record to 28-24-3-2 with a 5-4 win.
r
rThe Hurricanes will look to wrap up their U.S. road trip with a bang as they take on Chet Pickard and the Tri City Americans Sunday night in Kennewick. The Hurricanes will make their only visit to the Toyota Center for their last game of their four game U.S. division road trip. The last match-up between these two teams was at the ENMAX Centre on January 19, 2008; the Canes defeated the Americans 2-0. It will be the first time that Drew Hoff and Eric Mestery will be suiting up against their former teammates since being traded to the Hurricanes in November ‘08 in exchange for over age forward Mitch Fadden.
