Introducing “Future Builders”: A New Initiative by the Heinen Group
At the Heinen Group, we believe in the power of community and the promise of the future. With four vibrant locations across Alberta—Picture Butte Home Hardware Building Centre, Taber Home Hardware Building Centre, Nanton Home Building Centre, and Coaldale Home Hardware Building Centre—we are deeply rooted in the fabric of our towns. Our commitment goes beyond providing quality products and service; we strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Canadians today and for generations to come.
Addressing the Labour Shortage Crisis
Canada faces a growing labour shortage, particularly in the skilled trades sector. Alberta alone is projected to experience a shortfall of over 45,000 workers by 2030, with construction trades at the forefront of this challenge. This crisis presents both a challenge and an opportunity, and at Heinen group locations, we are determined to be part of the solution.
Empowering the Next Generation
Introducing **”Future Builders”**—an innovative initiative designed to ignite passion and interest in skilled trades and technology among our youth. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and targeted training programs, we aim to equip participants with the essential skills needed to thrive in these rewarding careers. Our goal is not just to fill jobs; we want to inspire a new generation of skilled workers who will ensure the growth and sustainability of the trades sector in our communities.
Community Engagement and Responsibility
At Heinen, we understand that true impact comes from collaboration. We are committed to being socially responsible partners, working alongside our teams and neighbours to support initiatives that uplift our communities.
For the 2024/25 WHL season, we are excited to partner with local organizations in Picture Butte, Taber, Nanton, and Coaldale to grow awareness for this initiative. Together, we will identify young individuals and community members to receive tickets to Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey games as part of our “ Stick to the Trades” promotional campaign, fostering awareness of the skilled trades and technology.
This initiative is not just about tickets; it’s about sparking conversations, building connections, and inspiring the next generation to consider a fulfilling career in the trades.
Join us in this crucial journey as we work to shape the future of skilled trades in Alberta. Together, we can empower our youth, strengthen our communities, and build a brighter tomorrow. With the Heinen Group, the future truly is in the hands of our builders!
