GAME 37 RECAP | Powerplay pushes Blades past Warriors on the road
Moose Jaw, SK – The Saskatoon Blades scored two powerplay goals in the third period Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre to help push them past the Warriors 4-2.
Blades alternate captain Rowan Calvert scored his team-leading 11th powerplay goal of the season 1:11 into the third period. The Moose Jaw, SK product earned third star on the night as his season totals improved to 14 goals and 17 assists in 33 games. After the Warriors tied the game about six minutes later, NHL draft-eligible forward Dvid Lewandowski scored the game-winning goal on another Saskatoon man-advantage. It was the import forward’s first game back in the lineup since returning from Ottawa representing Team Germany at the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship.
2006-born netminder Ethan McCallum picked up his second win in as many starts with a 28-save performance. The 6-foot-4 Blade saw his record rise to 3-4-0-2 after the win.
The Blades allowed the first goal of the game in eight of their last nine outings coming into tonight, outscored 8-1 in that stretch. Saskatoon forward Tyler Parr corrected the course 2:09 into the first contest with his 13th goal of the season to make it 1-0 Saskatoon. The La Salle, MB product ended a six-game goalless drought while linemate Tanner Scott picked up his second point in as many games since joining the Blue and Gold on Thursday. Scott was acquired by the Blades in a trade from the Victoria Royals and scored in his team debut yesterday in a 6-2 loss against the Brandon Wheat Kings at SaskTel Centre.

The second brought the game’s first penalty as Blades rookie defenceman went to the box for hooking. The next two calls went against the Warriors, but neither side found the back of the net on the man-advantage, sending the Blades up 1-0 into the final 20 minutes of play.
Calvert gave the Blades a two-goal cushion early into the third.

Warriors forward Ethan Semeniuk brought his club within one seven minutes into the final frame on Moose Jaw’s second powerplay opportunity of the game.
Lewandowski made it 3-1 Saskatoon with 6:33 left in regulation with his eighth goal of the season. The 6-foot-2 winger has 16 points in 21 games during his rookie season with the Blades.

Veteran forward Brayden Schurrman brought the Warriors within one again with 2:15 left in the game. The 20-year-old winger scored with the extra attacker, but Parr put his second of the night into the empty net to seal the 4-2 win for Saskatoon who finished 2/4 on the powerplay.
