Saskatoon Blades – Blue Crew
Are you an upbeat and energetic individual looking for a unique job opportunity? Join the Saskatoon Blades Blue Crew! The Saskatoon Blades are looking for a dedicated, responsible, and active individual with a flexible schedule to join our promotions team for game days, community events and appearances as needed. Our purpose as an organization is “to create a sense of pride and belonging through entertainment.” We count on our dedicated Blue Crew team members to help us create that pride and show our community how much fun a Blades game day can really be!
Tasks and Responsibilities:
● Blue Crew team member for the Saskatoon Blades Home Games
● Clean Ice during media timeouts twice during a period per game. Blue Crew members are not always on the ice cleaning, as some nights will require in-stand promotions.
● Ability to attend 75% of games as well as potential playoff games
● Ability to have fun, engage and interact with fans
● Performing in-game activations such as on-ice intermission contests, in the crowd with fans, or greeting fans on the concourse upon arrival.
● Work collaboratively with all promotional team members and staff.
● Opportunity to participate in social media content, community events and season ticket holder events as assigned and agreed upon
● Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
● Strong skating skills (hockey skates)
● Physically fit; ability to skate, shovel ice, assist with on-ice promotions with fans, operate a t-shirt cannon, hand out prizing, climb stairs, etc.
● Friendly, engaging, enthusiastic & animated personality
● Must be comfortable performing & interacting with fans in front of large crowds
● Ability to be self-sufficient and work individually when needed
● General hockey knowledge is an asset
● Flexible schedule – Must be able to work most home games, nights/weekends and holidays as required
