Rookie forward Jacob Perreault (1, 2), the son of former long-time NHL forward Yanic Perreault, had an OHL debut to remember, scoring the first two goals of his OHL career as the Sarnia Sting took a 6-2 win in Saginaw. The Sting took out a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes as Jamieson Rees (1) and Anthony Salinitri (1, 2) joined Perreault on the scoresheet while Justin McCombs picked up his first OHL point with an assist. Adam Ruzicka (1) netted a highlight reel goal in the third, joining Perreault and Salinitri as they scored their second of the game. Aidan Hughes stopped 28 of 30 shots, surrendering Saginaw goals from Albert Michnac (2) and Nicholas Porco (1). Cameron Lamour got the start for the Spirit before giving way to Ivan Prosvetov who made his OHL debut to start the second period. The Spirit suffer their first loss while Sarnia claims victory in their season opener.
