Training Camp News
Friday, September 3, 2004 The Sarnia Sting are pleased to announce the signing of three new players to the team roster.
Second Round Pick in the 2004 Draft, Thomas Pollicelli from Camlachie, Ontario, played with the Lambton Jr. Sting AAA last year. Pollicelli is 5-foot, 11-inches and weighs in on defence at 190-lbs.
A 7th Round Draft Pick in 2002, Adam Abrahamson, a right winger from Livonia, Michigan who played for the Springfield Spirit of the (NAHL) last season will add some more size to the front line. At 6-foot, 4-inches and 200-lbs, Abrahamson has performed well enough in training camp to make the jump to the OHL.
Mike Iafrate was invited to camp as a Free Agent from the Mississauga Chargers. The 17 year old from Toronto, Ontario fills the second goalie position behind veteran Ryan Munce.
In further training camp news, goaltender Antonio Evangelista was released.
Tonight the Sting visit London in exhibition play starting at 7:30.
The Sting continue training camp on Saturday with a Black & Gold inter-squad game at 4:00pm to which the public is invited at no charge.
