TRADE ALERT | Sting Add High Compete & Experience in Michael Pezzetta
SARNIA, ON – Sarnia Sting GM, Nick Sinclair announced today that the Hockey Club has completed a deal with the Sudbury Wolves acquiring 6’1” 220 lbs forward Michael Pezzetta as well as an 8th round pick (GUE) in 2018.
Pezzetta, a sixth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens will add grit and experience to a deep Sting forward group. In 214 Ontario Hockey League games played with the Wolves, Pezzetta tallied 90 points (40 goals, 50 assists). The Toronto, ON was originally selected as the 11th overall pick by Sudbury in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection and has served as Assistant Captain the past two seasons before being named team captain for the Wolves this season.
Sinclair comments on todays transaction “The addition of Michael adds a significant element to our team from a leadership and experience stand point. Michael is the ultimate competitor who plays with grit, tenacity and has a unique presence on and off the ice that will be invaluable to our current group.”
Heading to Sudbury in the deal is defence prospect Ethan Lavallee as well as a 2nd Round Pick (BAR) in 2019, a 2nd Round Pick (SAR) in 2023 as well as a conditional 4th round pick in 2019.
Pezzetta is expected to make his Sarnia Sting debut Thursday when the Sting head to Windsor to take on the Spitfires.
