Sting Select Miroslav Preisinger
Sarnia, ON Sarnia Sting General Manager Alan Millar announced this afternoon that the hockey club has selected forward Miroslav Preisinger with the 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2008 CHL Import Draft.
Preisinger a native of Bratislava, Slovakia played last season with the Bratislava of the Slovakian junior league.
Preisinger also has experience representing Slovakia at the International level as he played this season in both the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge and the IIHF World Under 18 Championship.
At the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge Preisinger was the top scorer for the Slovaks recording 4 points in 5 games.
Preisinger was especially impressive at the U18 Championships where he played in a tournament comprised of the top 1990 players in the world as a 1991 born player. He would go on to score three goals in six games at the Championships.
