Weekend Wrap-up: Sting earn 6/6
It was a big weekend for the Sarnia Sting, earning 6 of a possible 6 points in a span of 72 hours. It was Devils’ draft pick, Pavel Zacha leading the way for the Sting. The Czech-national collected 9 points in 3 games played, including two 4-point nights in back to back games.
Newcomer Matt Mistele was also excellent for the Sting, picking up 5 points (3G, 2A) and the Teddy Bear Toss goal over the weekend.
The 3-0-0-0 weekend leaves the Sting just 2 points behind divisional leaders, Windsor, with a game in hand. The two teams are set to battle this upcoming Friday at the SSEC on Ugly Christmas Sweater night – presented by Mainstreet Credit Union.
FRIDAY NIGHT – BATTALION @ STING
The Sting came out flying on Friday night, scoring just 1:34 into the opening frame. Patrick White led the way for the Sting, picking up 2G, 1A and first star honours in the process. Article Game Sheet
SATURDAY NIGHT – STING @ FIREBIRDS
The Sting continued to roll on Saturday night in Flint, beating the home side by a final score of 5-3. Brigden-native Kaden Fulcher turned aside 21/24 shots faced – earning his first career OHL win in his first career OHL start. Article Game Sheet
SUNDAY AFTERNOON – 67’S @ STING
The Sting closed out the weekend with a 5-4 victory over the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday afternoon. With a season-high 4,067 fans in attendance on Sunday, Matt Mistele scored the coveted Teddy Bear Toss goal, sending over 3500 stuffed toys to the ice. Jakob Chychrun scored the game-winning goal for the Sting.
