Sting Defeat Spits 5-1
Sarnia, ON – Chad Painchaud is starting to assert himself as one of the OHL’s premier forwards and Friday night vs. Windsor was no exception.
Painchaud scored a goal and added three assists en route to being named the games first star. The four points give Painchaud seven in his last two games.
Painchaud would also reach a milestone Friday with his two first period assists. Painchaud came into Friday nights game with 98 career points, the two assists bringing him up to the century mark for his career.
The Sting would also get strong performances on this night from rookies Mark Katic and Parker VanBuskirk.
Katic who is turning heads throughout the OHL with his poise, confidence and most evidently his skating prowess chipped in with two points including his first career goal.
For VanBuskirk he kept the Spits at bay allowing just one goal and improving his record to 4-0-0 on the season.
Scoring the other Sting goals were some of the usual suspects; Tomas Pospisil chipped in with his 12th of the season and Jamie Fraser put home his 9th of the year.
The Sting have now won five in a row on home ice and will look to continue the hot play on the road.
Sarnia travels to Barrie for a Saturday night contest with the Colts and then over to Sudbury on Sunday for a rematch with the Wolves.
