Sting Acquire Second Round Pick
Sarnia, On – Sarnia Sting General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the hockey club has completed a trade with the Kitchener Rangers involving draft selections.
The hockey club acquired Kitchener’s 2nd round pick (33rd overall) in exchange the Rangers receive Belleville’s 3rd round pick (58th overall) and Mississauga’s 5th round pick all in this year’s OHL Priority Selection as well Kitchener will receive Sarnia’s 3rd round pick in 2014.
Beaulieu commented on the trade to acquire Kitchener’s 2nd round selection.
“We felt it was very important for us to acquire the 2nd round pick. We now have the 9th, 33rd and 41st picks on Saturday. We feel this is a very important draft for the future of our hockey club to build on the strong draft we had last year.”
The OHL Priority Selection presented by State Farm will take place tomorrow morning beginning at 9:00am. The Sting will select 9th overall with their first selection.
