State of the Sting
Overview
Through the first 32 games of the 2015-16 season, the Sarnia Sting have accumulated a total of 39 points while sporting a 18-11-2-1 record.
At the near-half way mark of the season, the Sting are currently 5th in the Western Conference standings, having secured points in 3 straight games heading into the break.
The team returns to the SSEC on Saturday, January 2nd when they take on the London Knights for the first time at home this season.
West Division Standings
The club currently holds the #2 slot in the West Division standings, behind only the Windsor Spitfires. Although the Spits remain 6 points ahead with a 20-9-5-0 record, the Sting have played two less games than their counterparts.
The two clubs, Sarnia and Windsor, have only played once so far this season with the Spits taking the first of six meetings by a score of 3-0. The two clubs are set to faceoff again on Monday, December 28th – the first game back from the holidays in Windsor.

Home Ice Advantage
Despite dropping their first game of the season to the Otters on home ice, the Sarnia Sting have been excellent thus far at the SSEC. In 16 home games, the Sting are 12-3-1-0 and have allowed a league-low 37 goals against on home-ice.
The Sting special teams have been much better at home as well. They currently maintain the 5th best powerplay percentage (22.6%) and the 7th best penalty-killing percentage (82.9%) in the league on home ice.
