Stamkos Shines In All-Star Classic
Saginaw, MI – If you like offense then the 2007 OHL All-Star Classic was for you.
The Eastern Conference would outscore the Western Conference 13-9 after all was said in done in a game that saw a record 22 goals scored.
Of course Sting fans are more concerned with the play of their 3 All-Stars more so then the outcome and the Sting Stars would not disappoint.
Of note was the play of rookie sensation Steven Stamkos.
Stamkos who was raved about all night by the Rogers Sportsnet broadcast team who even showed prior to the start of the game the highlight reel goal scored by the Sting forward in Tuesday nights skills competition.
As for as the All-Star game itself Stamkos scored a pair of goals and added two assists en route to being named the Western Conference Player of the Game.
The other Sting All-Stars would also represent themselves nicely as Ryan Wilson who was named one of the teams Alternate Captains chipped in with an assist while Mark Katic was a +2 which is an impressive feat considering the Western team allowed 13 goals.
The three All-Stars all get back into regular season action Thursday night as the Sting host the West Division leading Plymouth Whalers at the SSEC.
