Otters Outlast Sting In Back And Forth Game
Sarnia, ON It was a rare Monday night contest at the SSEC between the Sting and the visiting Erie Otters.
The game played out to what seems to be script thus far for the Sting on the season. It was a close, back and forth game that the Sting were in right until the final buzzer but unfortunately came up just short.
The Sting got a strong effort out of sophomore forward Richard Clune who recorded a pair of goals. Clune’s second goal was the goal of the night stripping an Otter defender and beating Erie goaltender Jase Sniderman with a slapshot just inside the left post for a shorthanded marker.
Scott Restoule would add his fourth of the season rounding out the Sting scoring.
The Otters would score five goals with five individual goal scorers four of them beating Sting starting goaltender Ryan Munce and an empty net to cap off the scoring.
Scoring for the Otters were Geoff Platt, Tomas Galasek, Andrew Shennan, Ryan O’Marra and Derrick Bagshaw.
The Sting now look to rebound from it’s current losing streak on the road as they head to Toronto on Thursday to take on the St. Mikes Majors.
