MUNCE AND TEAM CANADA HOPEFULS SET TO OPEN CAMP
Sting Goaltender Looking To Crack Canadian Squad
Calgary, Alberta Fourty-four of Canada’s best junior-aged hockey players, are getting set to take part in Canada’s National Junior Team Development Camp, August 12 19 at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary.
Sting goaltender Ryan Munce is among the participants of the camp and is one of only four goaltenders taking part. None of the goalies at the development camp were on last years World Junior club.
The 2005 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship will be held in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA from December 25, 2004 through January 4, 2005.
Team Canada will be coached by Brent Sutter (Red Deer, WHL) and his assistants both coming from the Ontario Hockey League, Peter DeBoer (Kitchener) and Jim Hulton (Kingston).
The camp will consist of practices and intra squad games beginning Thursday August 12th and wrapping up the following Thursday.
The camp is not a selection camp and no player personnel decisions are made at the camp.
