MIKE DARK JOINS STING COACHING STAFF
Sarnia Native to Help Run Defense
Sarnia, ON The Sarnia Sting are pleased to announce Mike Dark has joined the coaching staff.
Dark a native of Sarnia, will work with the team’s defense.
Dark played Junior B in Sarnia for the Ranson Bee’s during the 1981-82 season before attending RPI College where he starred on defense and won a NCAA championship.
He was a 6th round pick (124th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 1986-87 with the St.Louis Blues appearing in 13 games that season. In total he appeared in 43 games scoring 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 career points in the NHL.
Mike is a well-known instructor in the Sarnia-Lambton area running hockey schools since his retirement from the game in 1999. His teaching experience will be a major asset for the Sting as they head into the stretch run with a month remaining in the season.
The appointment of Dark is for the remainder of the 2003-04 season.
