Connor Murphy Honoured Friday
Sarnia, On – The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club will honour defenceman and World Junior Champion Connor Murphy on Friday night at the RBC Centre.
Murphy a first round pick of the Phoenix Coyotes had season ending surgery in mid-January to repair a knee injury that occurred at the World Junior Championships.
Along with former Sting Captain Alex Galchenyuk, Murphy captured Gold at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia helping his American team defeat Sweden in the Gold Medal Game.
Murphy will participate in the pre-game puck drop and will be signing autographs and posing for photographs with his Team USA jersey and Gold Medal during the first intermission.
The Sting will host the Saginaw Spirit on Friday night. Game time is 7:05.
