CLUNE OFF TO CALGARY FOR UNDER 18 DEVELOPMENT AND SELECTION CAMP
Sting Forward Looking to Make Impression on Coaching Staff that Includes his New Head Coach Shawn Camp
Sarnia, ON Sarnia Sting forward Richard Clune and 39 of Canada’s top players under the age of 18 will be in Calgary next week taking part in the Selection and Development Camp for Canada’s Under 18 team set to compete in the World Under-18 Championships, August 10th 20th, in Piestany, Czech Republic.
The Canadian hopefuls will take to the ice beginning this Saturday July 31st, at the Father David Bauer Arena. The camp runs from Saturday through till Friday August 6th, when at that time the roster will be finalized before departing to the Czech Republic.
Clune has previous international experience having captured Gold at the Under-17 Challenge last January with Team Ontario. Clune was a member of Ontario’s top offensive line and led the tournament in assists.
Sting Head Coach Shawn Camp will be behind the bench of the Canadian squad as one of the teams Assistant Coaches under Head Coach Dave Cameron.
