Weekend Preview | 3 in 3
The Sarnia Sting are back on the road this weekend as they will take on 3 of their division rivals. The Sting will head to Sault Ste. Marie to take on the Greyhounds on Friday night, and will then head to Flint Saturday to face the Firebirds before travelling to Windsor for a matinee matchup against the Spitfires on Sunday afternoon. The Sting are coming off a tough 6-5 loss to the Saginaw Spirit on Monday afternoon that saw their record drop to 26-25-5-1. STING NOTES:
Jordan Kyrou: Kyrou continues his torrid run in 2017, as he has now recorded points in 21 straight games, dating back to January 1st. During this span, he has recorded 38 points and now finds himself in 4th place among OHL scoring leaders with 79 points.
Kevin Spinozzi: Kevin Spinozzi continues to serve his 10-game suspension that stemmed from a high hit on January 29th. He is eligible to return this weekend against the Flint Firebirds on Saturday.
Drake Rymsha: Rymsha continues to produce for the Sting since being acquire from the 67’s before the deadline. In 17 games with the Sting, he has recorded 20 points, and has won 61% of the faceoffs he has taken.
The Sting will travel to Sault Ste. Marie on Friday to kick off their 3 game road trip, the 5th of 6 matchups between the two teams this season. The teams have each won 2 games a piece during the season series thus far. The Greyhounds have clinched a playoff spot, as they sit 2nd in the Western Conference with 81 points. SSM Players to Watch:
Zachary Senyshyn: Senyshyn continues to cement himself as a pure goal scorer this season, as he has scored 36 goals in 48 games this season. He is tied for 4th among league leaders in goals and is 2nd in team scoring with 51 points.
Blake Speers: Speers has impressed during a shortened season this year, as he as recorded 24 points through 19 games, and has only been held off the scoresheet 3 times. The New Jersey Devils prospect represented Team Canada in the World Junior Championships.

The Sting will head to Flint on Saturday to take on the Firebirds for the 2nd time in 4 games. The Sting will look for redemption after falling to the Firebirds 7-5 on February 18th. The Firebirds have now won 5 of the first 6 games against the Sting this season, with 2 remaining in the season series. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM.
FLT Players to Watch:
Nicholas Caamano: Caamano continues to produce for the Firebirds, as he is now up to 51 points in 55 games played, including 27 goals. The 3rd year player was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 5th round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Mathieu Henderson: Henderson is in the midst of his best offensive season this year, as he is now up to 45 points through 56 games this season. The overage defenceman has well surpassed his career high of 36 points set last season.

The Sting will finish off their 3 game road trip on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Windsor to take on the Spitfires.
