GAME REPORT | Sting Dominate Attack 7-0, Justin Fazio Records Shutout
The Sarnia Sting hosted the Owen Sound Attack on Sunday afternoon.
One may recall the previous meeting between these two teams was a rather wild affair in Owen Sound. The final score that night was 6-5 in a shootout as the Sting took victory.
This afternoon, the Sting were in full control from start to finish.
Jordan Kyrou opened the scoring with a five-on-three powerplay goal. Kyrou received a setup from Adam Ruzicka before wiring a quick shot from high between the circles. The puck flew by Attack goaltender Zack Bowman, and the Sting took a 1-0 lead.

Hugo Leufvenius had a close scoring opportunity with a few minutes left in the first. The Sting forward came in on a break and tried to slip the puck five-hole, but Bowman kicked his pads closed at the last second.
In the second period, Sarnia fired four more goals into the Attack net.
Anthony Salinitri scored his third goal in two games. Salinitri found the puck float in towards him while he stood right in front of Bowman. After spinning and releasing, the puck continued floating away into the cage.
Kyrou then scored his second of the game. It was another opportune goal, as a small scramble put the puck right on Kyrou’s stick before the Sting captain finished it off.
Then, everyone’s favourite: milestone time.
Curtis Egert scored his first career Ontario Hockey League goal, and it was a beauty. Egert picked up the puck on a two-on-one rush and went top shelf on the Attack goalie.

Ruzicka scored another one after some hard hustle down low from Leufvenius. Through two periods of play, it was 5-0 for the Sting.
In the third, Sarnia capped off the afternoon with two more goals.
Ryan McGregor tallied his sixth of the season, once again set up by Leufvenius.
Jordan Ernst rounded things out with his eleventh of the year, assisted by Marko Jakovljevic and Brady Hinz.
Today’s final score was 7-0 for the Sting.
Justin Fazio picked up his first shutout of the season in goal. Fazio stopped all 39 shots faced.
Leufvenius finished the day with three assists; Kyrou had two goals; Ruzicka had a goal and two assists; Salinitri had a goal and an assist; and Drake Rymsha had two assists.
