Sting Appreciate Fans; Fans Appreciate Win
Sarnia, ON – Thursday night was fan appreciation night at the SSEC as it was the final home game of the regular season for the Sarnia Sting.
With the Erie Otters in town the Sting were looking to still make a move up in the Western Conference playoff ladder as the playoff picture is still very muddied as to who will match up in the first round.
The Sting would not dissapoint those in attendance for fan appreciation night as they would outlast the Otters by a score of 5-3.
Steven Stamkos would have yet another memorable night as he would score his 40th goal of the season in what would be the game winner.
The other Sting goal scorers on the night would be Mark Katic, Craig Voakes, Harrison Reed and Mike Roelofsen.
Parker Van Buskirk made 24 saves in the Sting net for the victory.
The Sting close out the regular season on the road Friday night in Saginaw and Saturday night in Sault Ste. Marie.
As of right now it is still not known who the Sting will meet in the first round of the OHL playoffs as it could come down to the final night of the regular season to determine seeding in the Western Conference.
