3rd Annual Win It In A Minute
For the second time this year, the Sarnia Sting have teamed up with the Canadian Cancer Society; this time for Win It in a Minute for Cancer. On Tuesday, November 19th the team will be at the Lambton Mall (in front of Toys R Us) to take part in the 3rd annual Win It in a Minute event, and show their support for Pediatric Cancer Research.
For the second straight year, the Murray Vosbourgh Sarnia Sting Challenge Cup will take centre stage from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. With last year’s winner, Reid Boucher, moving on this season – a new player will be crowned champion this year. Come out to watch the Sting Cup challenge and also challenge yourself to beat the 1-minute clock for a chance to win 1 of 2 iPad Minis. The event will run from 5:30pm-8:30pm and the cost is only $5/ 3 attempts. Again, all proceeds go to Pediatric Cancer Research.
After participating in the event last year, Sting coach Trevor Letowski is excited to have the team involved again. “This is the second opportunity we’ve had to work with the Canadian Cancer Society this season, which we could not be more thrilled about. The guys are looking forward to participating for a second straight year and getting out into the community to show their support for Pediatric Cancer Research.”
Paula McKinlay, Fundraising Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society is just as enthusiastic about this year’s event. “Win it In A Minute in support of the Canadian Cancer Society is proud to once again have the Sarnia Sting on board in the fight against Pediatric Cancer. Its great seeing youth support a youth illness. The players really got into the competition last year competing for the Murray Vosbourgh Challenge Cup. Players will have big shoes to fill this year; Reid Boucher fought to the end of the competition last year and won! It was great entertainment to watch team white up against team black. We are looking forward to hosting Win It In a Minute with the Sarnia Sting at Lambton Mall this year with partners Leadwave Technologies, In Motion, The Cooperators Franco Filia, Ontario Power Generation. “
The Win It in a Minute for Cancer event this year will also feature a special visit from Santa Claus himself, and a Silent Auction.
