Kitchener Rangers Sign Forward Ryder Roberson to OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement
Kitchener, Ont. – The Kitchener Rangers announced today that forward Ryder Roberson has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.
Roberson, a Cambridge, Ont. native, is a right-shot forward who most recently played with the Elmira Sugar Kings of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. The 2008-born forward is listed at 6-foot-1 and 194 pounds. During the 2025-26 season with Elmira, Roberson recorded 26 points, including 15 goals and 11 assists, over 46 regular season games. Across 80 career GOHL regular season games, he has registered 35 points and 169 penalty minutes.
“Ryder has played two years of Junior B in Elmira and we have seen tremendous growth in his game and feel he is ready to make the jump to the OHL,” said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. “He plays a hard-working and physical game that we feel will translate well to our team. We look forward to seeing Ryder continue to improve and develop in a Ranger uniform. We are excited to welcome Ryder and his family to the Rangers organization.”
Roberson was selected by the Rangers in the 15th round, 297th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.
“I am super honoured to be a part of the Kitchener Rangers,” said Roberson. “Everybody I know is a hardcore Rangers fan, so when I got the news that I would be signing, I was stoked. I can’t wait to get the season started.”
The Kitchener Rangers welcome Ryder and the Roberson family to the organization.
