
Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, John McFarland played four seasons in the OHL beginning in the 2008-2009 season. A former OHL first overall pick, McFarland split his OHL career between Sudbury, Saginaw, and Ottawa. In 2010, John was drafted in the second round by the Florida Panthers in the NHL draft. John went on to play seven seasons of professional hockey retiring in 2019.
Since retiring, John’s passion for the game has kept him connected to the world of hockey. John, who resides just north of Toronto, has started a skills development company based out of the greater Toronto area called Fundamental Hockey. In his spare time, John enjoys golfing, fishing, and relaxing on the water.
