Frontenacs Acquire Ian Lemieux from Barrie

The Kingston Frontenacs have acquired overage defenceman Ian Lemieux from the Barrie Colts in exchange for a 6th round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.

Lemieux is a native of Bradford, Ontario and he was originally drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the sixth-round of the 2018 OHL Priority Selection draft. Lemieux was traded to the Colts in October of 2019 to help solidify their defensive core.

In 147 career regular season games played between Saginaw (25) and Barrie (122), Lemieux has scored 6 goals and added 24 assists for 30 points. The 6’0” defenceman has also played in 14 playoff games.

The Kingston Frontenacs return to action on Friday night when they host the Owen Sound Attack for Indigenous Peoples Night at 7 PM. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.ca or at the venue box office.
