Doherty Scores in NHL Debut
Like his Kingston teammate one night earlier, Taylor Doherty had an impressive debut in his first pre-season NHL game with the San Jose Sharks, as Doherty scored a goal and finished the night a plus two in exactly 20 minutes of ice time, despite the Sharks falling 5-2 to the Anaheim Ducks.
Despite the one-sided score, it was actually the Sharks who controlled the play, as they out-shot the Ducks 40-18 on the night. Torrey Mitchell also scored for San Jose, while Corey Perry, Aaron Voros, Danny Syvret, Ryan Getzlaf and Jason Blake replied for the Ducks.
