Performer of the Week: Matthew Soto
The Kingston Frontenacs had a successful week, securing two wins against the Sarnia Sting and Oshawa Generals while suffering a lone defeat to the Barrie Colts. Amidst these performances, Matthew Soto stood out, making him our Performer of the Week. Demonstrating exceptional skill and goal-scoring prowess, Soto netted an impressive total of 5 goals in three games.
Soto’s first goal occurred on November 9th against the Barrie Colts. Driving hard to the net, he initiated a scramble in front of Ben West’s crease, ultimately locating the puck amidst the chaos and slotting it past the Colts’ goaltender. Although an empty net goal secured a 5-3 win for the Colts, Soto’s third-period goal provided Kingston with an opportunity to mount a comeback.
In the annual Remembrance Day Game on November 10th, hosted at Leon’s Centre against the Sarnia Sting, Soto continued his exceptional performance. Wearing the CADPAT jerseys, he scored the opening goal of the game, giving the Frontenacs a 1-0 lead. Soto received a precise pass from Paul Ludwinski and beat Sting’s goaltender, Nick Surzycia, with a perfectly placed shot. Adding an insurance goal in the second period, Soto contributed significantly to the Frontenacs’ 5-3 victory, earning him the first star for his outstanding performance.
The three-game week concluded with a thrilling 5-4 shootout win over the Oshawa Generals at the Tribute Communities Centre. Soto showcased his scoring prowess once again, recording a multi-goal game. His first goal, assisted by Jacob Battaglia, came in the first minute of the second period, providing the Frontenacs with a 2-0 lead. The second goal at 3:14 of the third period played a crucial role in maintaining a two-goal lead, ultimately securing 2 points for the Frontenacs despite a late Oshawa rally.
Remarkably, Soto led his team in shots with a total of 13 over the three-game span. As he and his teammates gear up for their next challenge on Wednesday morning against Ottawa in their annual school day game, Soto’s stellar performance continues to be a driving force for the Kingston Frontenacs.

Tommy played a crucial role for the Frontenacs, registering 3 assists in 3 games while firing 7 shots on goal. Hailing from Petoskey, MI, he was a force on the penalty kill, displaying physicality and sacrificing his body. Tommy led his teammates with a +4 rating in plus/minus.
Quinton Burns
Quinton contributed significantly to the team’s success, finishing the week with 4 assists and 7 shots on goal over the three games. As a steady defender on the backend, the St. Louis Blues prospect’s 4 points led all Frontenacs defensemen during week 7 of the season.
