Performer of the Week: Jacob Battaglia
The Kingston Frontenacs proudly announce Jacob Battaglia as our Performer of the Week. During week 22 of the Ontario Hockey League season, the 2024 NHL Draft eligible forward showcased his prowess by netting 3 goals in 3 games. Surpassing the 30-goal mark over the weekend, Battaglia not only solidified his team’s lead in goal scoring but also demonstrated an impressive sophomore season.
This marks Jacob Battaglia’s fourth recognition this season as the Kingston Frontenacs Performer of the Week, having previously claimed the title in weeks 4, 13, 15, and now week 22. Combined, he has amassed 10 goals and 8 assists for 18 points in the 11 games he’s played while earning this distinction.
In the past week, Battaglia’s stellar performance saw him leading the team in scoring with 3 points. He launched 11 shots on goal, capitalizing on 3 of those opportunities. Notably, he found the back of the net against all three opponents faced. He bested Jacob Gibbons (Erie) with a first-period goal on Friday, March 1st, secured a power play marker against Matteo Drobac (Brantford) on Saturday, March 2nd, and concluded the weekend by slotting a one-timer past Jackson Parsons (Kitchener).
Having amassed 30 goals and 28 assists for 58 points in 59 games this season, Battaglia continues to be a driving force for his team. He and his teammates will hit the road this weekend, facing the Saginaw Spirits, Flint Firebirds, and Sarnia Sting in another three-in-three weekend starting on Friday, March 8th. Expect Jacob to maintain his momentum and play a pivotal role in the Frontenacs’ upcoming matches.
