Performer of the Week: Linus Hemström
After week 11, the Kingston Frontenacs boasted several candidates for the Performer of the Week title. However, one player emerged as the clear standout: Linus Hemström. Linus showcased his prowess by leading the team in scoring with an impressive 5 points during the week, making a significant impact in Kingston’s solitary victory over the North Bay Battalion.
On Thursday, December 7th, Linus Hemström played a pivotal role in the Kingston Frontenacs’ 4-3 triumph against the North Bay Battalion at the North Bay Memorial Gardens. Hemström contributed to all four goals, netting one himself and providing three assists. This outstanding performance not only marked a new career high for Linus but also earned him the first star of the game. The Swedish import was further recognized as the OHL’s Performer of the Night for his exceptional offensive display.
Linus continued to showcase his skill on Sunday, December 10th, scoring his 12th goal of the season against the Sudbury Wolves. This goal, characterized by a skillful move in close, saw him beat Wolves goaltender Marcus Vandenberg. Over his last 10 games, Hemström has tallied 6 goals and 8 assists, accumulating 14 points.

Paul Ludwinski
