Kingston Frontenacs Toy Drive
The Kingston Frontenacs are pleased to partner with University Hospitals Kingston Foundation to create a Toy Drive in support of Pediatrics and the Child Life Program within Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
Every season, the Kingston Frontenacs have hosted an annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, our team was unable to host this game and collect hundreds of plush toys that would have been donated to children within the surrounding area.
Fans are asked to bring new and unwrapped toys to our donation bins, which are located at The Fronts Shop (Leon’s Centre, 1 The Tragically Hip Way, Kingston, Ontario). Donations can be made on Fridays (11:00am-5:00pm) and Saturdays (11:00am-4:00pm). Items must be new and in a package that can be wiped off. NO open packages will be accepted.
Anyone that donates will receive 15% off at The Fronts Shop (in store).

Anyone that donates to the Toy Drive will receive a signed player photo courtesy of Braden Haché. Donators will also be entered into a draw to win a Zoom call Q&A with Braden Haché in the new year. The winner will be randomly selected shortly after December 19, 2020. Only the winner will be contacted directly, but an announcement will be made on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

- Tim Horton’s gift cards for parents of children that are in the hospital
All donated toys will be provided to Pediatric Programs at Kingston Health Sciences Centre.

Child Life Program
Through play activities, preparation and support, the Child Life team will actively engage patients and help them cope with their illness, treatment, and their time in the hospital.
This team also:
- Focuses on the social and emotional impact of illness and hospitalization.
- Promotes a positive hospital experience for children.
- Use play as a tool for socialization, expression of feelings, and learning
- Assesses the physical, social and emotional responses of the child and family to illness and hospitalization.
- Provides therapeutic play to enhance coping.
- Facilitates safe play environments and play programs and co-ordinates special events.
- Advocates for the needs of children and families.
- Collaborates with children, families, health care professionals and community agencies.
- Provides supportive relationships for patients and families.
- Embraces the value of play in commitment to children’s health and development.
Kingston Frontenacs
Locally owned and managed the Kingston Frontenacs are a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League, based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The Frontenacs play home games at the Leon’s Centre, which is located at 1 The Tragically Hip Way, Kingston, Ontario. The franchise was founded in 1973–74, then known as the Kingston Canadians.
