Fast Five: Kingston vs. Sudbury
To begin a two-game homestand, the Frontenacs (1-2-0-0) will host the Sudbury Wolves (2-1-0-0) at the Leon’s Centre on Friday evening. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
The last time the Frontenacs took home-ice, they skated away with a 4-2 victory over the Oshawa Generals to open their 2023-24 home schedule. Tyler Hopkins, Jacob Homes, Nathan Poole (GWG) and Linus Hemström scored for the Black and Gold. 9 different players contributed and found their names added to the scoresheet. Mason Vaccari was spectacular in net, stopping 30 shots en route to victory.
The Eastern Conference foes are not very battle tested against one another, with the teams only locking horns 10 times over the past 5 seasons. Kingston currently holds an overall record of 6-4-0-0 in that span and a respectable 4-1-0-0 on home ice against the Pack.
Tonight’s contest marks the one and only time Sudbury will make an appearance in the Limestone City during the 2023-24 regular season.

Different Kind of Fresh
The Wolves enter tonight’s game fresh off a 4-0 shutout victory over the Peterborough Petes on the road in the defending champions barn. Kingston on the other hand sat idle last night and will have an advantage having the fresher legs heading into tonight’s contest.
Filing the Net
Kingston has managed to score an average of 4 goals a game to start their season. With the high power Wolves coming into town tonight, capitalizing on scoring chances for the Frontenacs will be a recipe for success. It is yet to be known if the Frontenacs will be facing Wolves goaltender Nate Krawchuk or 2023 import selection Jakub Vondras who was in net last night.
Team Defence
The Sudbury Wolves possess a lineup filled with talented forwards and defencemen. It will be important for the Frontenacs to tighten up their team defence and limit any high danger chances the Wolves generate. Even with the Fronts offensive game clicking for 12 goals in three games, their goal differential sits at even do to the identical number surrender. Team defence will be a big emphasis for the Black and Gold in today’s game.
Behind enemy lines: Sudbury Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves currently sit at 2-1-0-0 and come into tonight’s action as the OHL’s 7th ranked team in their latest power rankings.
Sudbury opened their 2023-24 season on Friday, September 29th with a 6-1 win over the Brantford Bulldogs. Kocha Delic and David Goyette led the Wolves attack with Delic collecting 3 points (1G,2A) and Goyette adding 4 assists. The team’s second win came last night against the Pete’s where Jakub Vondras stole the show in a 4-0 victory.
Familiar Last Name
Frontenacs fans will recognize a familiar last name on the Sudbury Wolves. The brother of Kingston Frontenacs fan favour and graduated player, Martin Chromiak will be suiting up for the opponent tonight.
Jakub Chromiak is in his second season with Sudbury. The import defenceman will be wearing number 7 for the visiting Wolves.
