Frontenacs acquire overage forward Jax Dubois from Peterborough
The Kingston Frontenacs have completed a trade with the Peterborough Petes to acquire overage forward Jax Dubois for three future OHL Priority selections.
Kingston Receives:
Jax Dubois – FWD
Peterborough Receives:
2nd Rd Pick – 2025 (FLNT)
3rd Rd Pick – 2026 (GUE)
5th Rd Pick – 2027 (WSR)
Dubois is a native of Ottawa, ON. The 6’ 4”, 205 lbs. forward was drafted by the Peterborough Petes in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. He made his OHL debut during the 2021-22 season. In total, Jax has appeared in 152 regular season OHL games over three seasons. He has scored 32 goals and 55 assists.
“Dubois is a big, heavy, strong, right shot center that can play a 200-foot game, and can play in any situation.” said GM Kory Cooper. “He has a high win rate in the circle and has been producing at a point per game pace offensively this season. We like that he can score and that he can play with toughness against other teams top players.”
Jax Dubois also brings important winning experience with him to Kingston. He has played in 27 OHL playoff games, and was a member of the Peterborough Petes 2022-23 OHL Championship team.
Cooper continued “One of the most appealing traits is Dubois’ winning experience. He has played in a lot of playoff games, and he has won a league championship. Being able to acquire a player that knows what it takes to win in the league, and what it feels like to play games at the Memorial Cup is an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. He is an important addition to our team.”
Dubois will make his Frontenacs debut against his former team on Thursday night when the Frontenacs visit Peterborough. The team returns to Leon’s Centre on Friday night to host the Oshawa Generals. Puck drop is just after 7 PM for both games. Tickets are available to all Kingston Frontenacs home games at www.kingstonfrontenacs.com.
