2022-23 Player Spotlight: Matthew Soto
Matthew Soto was the first name the Frontenacs called at the 2021 OHL Priority Selection when they used the 5th overall pick on the Oakville, ON native. He got off to a hot start in his OHL career when he recorded points in seven straight games from October 15 to November 7, 2022. He finished his rookie season with 6 goals and 25 points. In year two, he would improve across the board setting career highs in goals, assists, points, plus/minus, and shots on goal. His 42 points trailed only Ethan Miedema for most points on the season. Like many of his teammates, Soto will be hoping to hear his name called by an NHL team at the draft this June.
