Firebirds Third Round Pick Gage Brandon Commits to Flint
FLINT, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds announced on Friday that 2024 third round pick Gage Brandon has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the team.
“I’m super pumped to get started with the Firebirds,” Brandon said. “I’ve wanted to be in the OHL ever since I started playing hockey so I’m super excited to get going.”

A native of Petrolia, Ont., the high-scoring center spent the 2023-24 season with the Vaughan Kings U16 AAA, where he played 35 games and tallied 25 goals and 13 assists along with a +38 plus/minus rating. Brandon and the Kings won the U16 AAA GTHL championship and he added six goals and three assists during the postseason. The Kings also earned a silver medal at the OHL Cup and won the international Silver Stick championship in November, where Brandon was named the tournament MVP.
“Getting drafted by the Firebirds was a great experience,” Brandon said. “My adrenaline was pumping and my entire family was super excited. I’m ready to get started and am looking forward to a great time with this team.”
