The 2024-25 season will be Nick Marek’s seventh as the Voice of the Winterhawks. He joined the Winterhawks after calling games for the Lone Star Brahmas in the North American Hockey League from 2014-2018. Marek, a graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, spent three years working as the play-by-play announcer and beat writer for ASU hockey.
Marek has broadcasted hundreds of junior hockey games and was selected to broadcast the 2018 NAHL Top Prospect Tournament. Prior to working in hockey, the now 31-year-old broadcaster was awarded a Rocky Mountain Production Emmy in the talent category for his work on Fox Sports Arizona and Arizona PBS. Marek currently resides in Hillsboro with his wife Amanda and son Miles.
