Jack in the Box Glass Palace Night
We’re celebrating the history and architecture of one of the most unique arenas in the WHL – our own Veterans Memorial Coliseum! Enjoy our barn at its best, with the curtains open to let in the Portland skyline and sunset, thanks to our friends at Jack in the Box. After a sneak preview last night, make sure to arrive early to soak in the sun before the 6:00 puck drop!
The Glass Palace is shining a little brighter today 💎

PLUS – don’t forget to stop by the team store for a sublimated replica Portland Rosebuds jersey as they go on sale for the first time! And make sure to visit the WAHA table outside Entry CC to grab a “Jersey Off Their Backs” raffle ticket for your chance to win a fully stitched, game-worn version from this year’s Winterhawks!
Last Time We Met
It’s been just one week since the Winterhawks swept the Royals in Victoria, ousting the islanders 6-2 and 5-2 last Friday and Saturday. Jack O’Brien starred in those two tilts with five assists, while Tyson Jugnauth scored in each game and Gabe Klassen notched his 250th career point.
Victoria sits fifth in the Western Conference, jockeying with Wenatchee for home-ice advantage in their likely first-round matchup. The Royals are banged up with five players out due to injury and another due to suspension, but rallied for a 6-4 win in Tri-City last night. With veterans like Tyson Laventure and Dawson Pasternak leading promising youngsters like Cole Reschny and Jerrett Ross, the Royals remain dangerous and will be out for revenge after the Hawks swept them at home.
Špuny Shuts The Door
Last night’s 3-0 win over Regina marked Jan Špunar’s second regular-season shutout and third overall in the WHL, posting a goose-egg in last year’s playoffs and another early this season. The Czech netminder has been busy since returning from injury but his numbers remain at or near the top of WHL goalie rankings with a 1.82 GAA (1st) and a .926 save percentage (2nd). We’ll have to wait and see if he posts a third start this week or if Head Coach Mike Johnston elects to give his standout puckstopper a rest, but the Hawks are in good hands no matter what.
