Warriors Set To Take On Kootenay
Last Game… Zach Sawchenko made 25 saves Saturday, recording his second consecutive shutout, in the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-0 win over the Tri City Americans. Jack Rodewald scored two goals; Tanner Eberle had a goal and two points; Tyler Brown and Spenser Jenson had one goal each; Alexey Sleptsov and Brayden Point recorded two assists each. Moose Jaw was 2-for-3 on the power play and 7-for-7 with a shorthanded goal on the penalty kill.
Warriors v Kootenay… Tonight is the first meeting of the season between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Kootenay Ice, last year the Warriors were 0-4 against the Ice. Kootenay outscored Moose Jaw 19-8.

Streaking Sawchenko… 16-year-old goalie Zach Sawchenko has recorded back-to-back shutouts, and is currently riding a 170:56 shutout streak. It started in the first period against Saskatoon September 27, October 2 he shutout Red Deer, October 4 he shutout Tri City. This is the longest streak since the 2003-2004 season when 20-year-old Mike Broduer recorded back-to-back shutouts, and had a shutout streak that lasted 145:24 from October 24 to November 10.
Green Lands In Moose Jaw… October 5th the Moose Jaw Warriors traded a 5th round pick in 2015 to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for 19-year-old defenseman Taylor Green. Green, 6’7” 220lbs, was a second round bantam pick in 2010, in four games this season he had one goal and two points.
