Manager, Game Day and Special Events
The Moose Jaw Warriors Hockey Club, a member of the Western Hockey League, is inviting applications for the position of Manager, Game Day and Special Events.
Position Description
The Manager, Game Day and Special Events is responsible for managing all game day activities and staff.
The Game Day and Special Events position will also lead the planning for the organization’s major events, including the Summer Kids Hockey Camp, Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame induction banquet, and Warriors Alumni Golf Tournament.
In addition, the position assists in the creation of marketing strategies for team initiatives.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage all game day activities including intermission games, league-promotions (jerky toss, trivia, etc.), and sponsored promotions
- Work alongside contracted production crew to ensure a mutual understanding of game elements
- Prepare scripts for game day in accordance with sponsorship, promotional opportunities, and special event programming
- Work with Sales staff and game sponsors to ensure requirements are being met
- Oversee and schedule game night staff including ambassadors, ice crew, anthem singer and media staff (lights, PA, music)
- Interview and hire game night staff as required
- Manage planning of Warriors special events – freedom to make new events
- Assist in the creation and marketing of team initiatives including theme nights and community events
- Assist with other duties as necessary – provided by General Manager or Director of Business Operations
Qualifications
- Must be available to work all Moose Jaw Warriors’ home games, special events and community events, including weekends and evenings.
- Game night experience an asset, but not necessary
- Enthusiastic team player who enjoys interacting with fans of all ages
- Able to lead in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing and developing situations
- Hockey knowledge is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license
