The Moose Jaw Warriors Read to Succeed initiative is designed to emphasize the importance of reading, receiving a good education and lifelong learning. Players from the Moose Jaw Warriors set an example for elementary students and promote the importance of literacy to students through classroom visits. Players spend time reading to students, and answering questions from the students in the school.
Members of the Moose Jaw Warriors visit schools in the Prairie South School Division and the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division throughout the course of the regular season.
“Donning their jerseys and walking into the classrooms they looked like superheroes to our students. The boys read from the books that they brought with them and then answered questions and signed autographs for our students. All 4 boys did an awesome job and represented well!! We are so lucky to have such a fabulous group of boys on our team!!” – Suzanne Vance, Prince Arthur Community Shool
“The staff and students of St. Agnes School would like to thank Brayden Point, Austin Adam, Reid Zalitach and Dallas Valentine of the Moose Jaw Warriors for taking time out of their busy schedules and coming and read to the Kindergartens Grade 1, 2, 3 and 4 classrooms on Career Day. Our students were excited to have to the Warriors read, sign autographs and share stories with them. Thanks for coming, and please visit again.” – Terry Marak, Vice Principal, St. Agnes School
