Hunt headed to World Under-17 Challenge
Moose Jaw Warriors 16-year-old rookie defenceman Daemon Hunt has been selected to take part in the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge coming up November 3 to 10 in Saint John and Quispamsis, New Brunswick.
Hunt was selected by the Warriors with the 15th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. Currently, in his first full season with the Warriors, Hunt has one goal and five points through the first eight games of the season.
From Brandon, Manitoba, Hunt played last season with his hometown AAA Wheat Kings and had four goals, 36 assists, and 40 points.
Hockey Canada has selected 66 players to represent Canada at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The players will be divided into three games, Canada Black, Canada Red, and Canada White, and will compete against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States.
Joining Hunt in New Brunswick for the tournament will be Warriors Associate Coach Mark O’Leary who was previously selected to be a part of Canada’s coaching staff for one of the three teams.
