Our Promise to the Fans
Young men from across the world call Moose Jaw home for nine months of the year. They come to a small city—with a distinctively unique rink and a community run organization. A franchise filled with history; a history that these young men plan to continue to write. The Moose Jaw Warriors are part of the city– part of the people. Without the fans there are no Warriors. For the last season in the historic Crushed Can, the 2010/2011 team will ensure the fans remember just why the Warriors are Moose Jaw’s team. The fans will see why this team is something special. Each player will leave his mark on the Friendly City, by entertaining the crowds but also dedicating their time to giving back to the thousands of fans who have helped keep the Warriors right where they belong in Moose Jaw.
Goals
- Last season the Warriors aimed to give back 400 hours of their time. The team surpassed this mark with over 687 hours. Next season, the Warriors aim to bank similar
hours of volunteer time in the community. - Last season, the Warriors helped to raise over $110,110 for the community. The team had hoped to raise $25,000 last season. Next year the Warriors will aim to raise similar amounts
for the community.
- To increase Warrior support and “fan-ship” by creating a positive feeling in the community. When the players are more than just “hockey players”, but actual people who are incredible athletes and young men who are exceptionally gifted.

CIBC Read to Succeed
The CIBC Read to Succeed program provides an avenue for Warriors Players to promote the importance of literacy and education. Warriors’ players visit school in Moose Jaw and surrounding area to read to students in Grades 1-4. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and receive autographs from their role models. The players are able to highlight the importance of education from a different perspective than a teacher or parent. The program provides a Read to succeed bookmark for students to have a visible reminder of their special visit and lesson.
Subway School Patrol
The Subway School Patrol program rewards hard working safety patrollers in every Moose Jaw Elementary school. Warriors’ players stop in for a surprise visit with a free lunch for the students. The Warriors understand the importance of the safety patrol program and feel privileged to be able to recognize these committed patrollers.
Growing Tommorow’s Minds/Mosaic
In partnership with the Mosaic Company, the Warriors volunteer their time at Hunger in Moose Jaw, a non-profit organization that packs over 250 lunches every day for those children in the community who would other wise go hungry. Mosaic committed $90,000 to the program in 2010.
We All Win School Fundraising
Schools in the Prairie South School division have the opportunity to sell Warriors home game tickets. Schools pay a discounted price and keep the profit they make by selling tickets at regular price. As an added bonus, the school that sells the most tickets will receive a reward accompanied by a Warriors Player Appearance.
Conexus/John Chisholm School
Each month, the Warriors will partner with Conexus to “mentor” and spend time with the students at John Chisholm School, making the students the “junior” warriors for the season. The underlying message behind the partnership will be for the students at John Chisholm to understand the concepts of “teamwork”, “goals”, “consequences”, “behaviour” and “belonging to a team”. Each month, a specific message will be given to the students through discussion and activities from the players and Warriors staff.
RBC Captains Club
The RBC Captains Club sends Warriors Players to minor hockey practises. Players get to pass on their hockey knowledge, while inspiring young players to go for their dreams. Thanks to RBC’s support, the players are able to share their love of the game with minor hockey players.
Life Saving Hat Trick
In partnership with the Canadian Blood Services, the Warriors challenge their fans to donate blood 3 times over the season. Donors receive a special card to have stamped each time they donate. Those who achieve a hat trick are entered to win Warriors gear. One lucky individual will be recognized on ice at a Warriors home game. The Warriors’ goal is to increase the awareness for blood donations. Last year exactly 100 fans achieved a hat trick, which means over 300 lives potentially were saved.
McKids Club
New this season is the re-launch of the McDonalds Kids Club. The Warriors want all kids under age 12 to be part of the club. By becoming a member, kids get special deals and invitations to exclusive kids club events. Throughout the season, the kids club members will have a chance to enter contests and partake in fun events. The Warriors know that some of the biggest Warriors fans are the kids. Dylan McIlrath will champion this program.
McDonalds One Step at a Time- Hospital Room
With renovations soon to begin, McDonalds and the Warriors are thrilled to be the proud sponsor of a very special room in the Moose Jaw Hospital Paediatrics Ward. This special room will be filled with Warriors inspired décor. The Warriors hospital room will make a kid’s stay better. Once the room is complete, patients will receive surprise hospital visits from Warriors players.
Co-op Home Game Fill Up and Win
The Warriors and Co-op are proud to bring their fans the Home Game Fill Up and Win promotion. Anyone who fills up at the Co-op on a Home Game date will receive one (1) child ticket to a Warriors Game. With the ticker, customers receive a ballot to enter their child to win the grand prize of an Autographed Warriors Jersey. Each month, one lucky child will be drawn to join a Warriors player after a game for a personal picture that will be autographed and theirs to keep.
Yara Wins for Hunger
Returning this season, Yara will donate $100 to Hunger in Moose Jaw for every Warrior Home Game Win. Last year Yara donated $2000 to this great cause. The Warriors are proud to partner with Yara to help end hunger in Moose Jaw.
Canadian Tire 7th Man
Each Warriors home game, one lucky minor hockey player will be selected to be the Canadian Tire 7th Man. Players can enter at Canadian Tire for their chance to be on the ice for a Warriors pre-game show. This promotion allows young skaters to have an experience of a life time—standing on the blue line with their idols.
