January 17 Milltek Surveys On the Road With Tim Hunter
The Warriors are 1-1 through the first weekend of this road trip, is it fair to say that the B.C. Division hasn’t seen the Warriors at their best yet?
We haven’t played the type of hockey it takes to win on the road this time of year so far on this trip. So yes we can be better and we will make some adjustments to get a better performance out of us as a group.
During a long road trip, how important are “off-days” and what can the players do on those days to prepare them for tough upcoming games?
Off days on the road allow the players to get settled in their environment and they are able to relax and get ready to play the next day. We had a good practice today and the players will have time to relax and bond the rest of the day.
As a coach, how hard is it to prepare for opponents you only see once?
Preparing for an opponent you only play once is not that difficult. Most coaches have a way they operate their team and the way they use their personnel. We watch 2 to 3 of our opponents games before so we get familiar with their current state and always have the ability to adjust on the fly. The other team is in the same boat as us as far as only playing us once.
