Giants Take Down Tigers
Vancouver, BC – The Medicine Hat Tigers had the Giants on the ropes before a third period comeback by Vancouver propelled the home team to victory.
The Tigers, in the midst of a four game road trip, twice held two goal leads before Vancouver scored three unanswered goals for the win.
Tyler Ennis and Mark Isherwood staked the Tigers to an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period.
For Isherwood it was his team leading 9th power play goal of the season, while Ennis ran his current point streak to six games.
Ennis, who recently went over the 200 point plateau for his career, scored his team leading 24th goal of the season.
Linden Vey, with two assists and Tristan King (1A) also extended their point streaks to six games.
Travis Dunstall's first goal in 12 games gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead early in the second period.
Vancouver scored late in the second period to pull with in one goal and then added two more in the third period for the come from behind victory.
Tigers goaltender Ryan Holfeld stopped 30 of 34 shots in the loss.
Medicine Hat was 1 for 4 on the power play, while Vancouver scored one power play goal on five opportunities.
The Tigers did manage to hold WHL leading scorer Casey Pierro-Zabotel to just one assist, while Evander Kane was held scoreless.
