General Manager Brad McEwen Interview
Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers announced today the promotion of Tigers’ director of scouting Brad McEwen to the position of general manager with the recent departure of former general manager/head coach Willie Desjardins to the Dallas Stars of the NHL.
“We are very pleased to be able to promote from within our organization,” stated Tigers’ president/governor Darrell Maser. “This allows us to maintain the same model and structure we now have in place. Brad has been the teams’ director of scouting for three years and has a very good understanding of our program and the league as a whole.”
As a former winner of the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy emblematic of the WHL Executive of the Year in 2001-02, Brad had this to say about his hiring: “I’m real excited about the opportunity. Being with the program for the past three years and my familiarity with our organization, the players and coaching staff, makes it a real comfortable situation to step into. I’m excited about everything we are doing to move forward.”
